Liberty was hit by a car and left on the side of the road. She sustained multiple fractures, a torn CCL, and suffered aspiration pneumonia as a result of the trauma - we have never been so happy to rescue a pup and get her treatment!
Beyond her injuries, Liberty came to us very withdrawn and nervous. Loud noises and fast movements scare her, and she can be very slow to warm up to people. But once she knows someone, she is affectionate and sweet.
Liberty's perfect person is someone who is experienced in rehabilitating the shy and undersocialized dog. Liberty has come a long way here, but has a long way to go in terms of acclimating to the ins and outs of daily life. She is very fearful of strangers, and will need continued extensive and mindful socialization with people.
Physically, Liberty has made incredible strides. She plays and runs with the other huskies, and would likely enjoy a calm, male canine companion. Liberty takes cues from other dogs, so having a well-trained and sociable companion to emulate could be an asset for her.
