Lexa was found as a stray, and no one stepped up to claim her. Unfortunately, we learned she was heartworm positive soon after pulling her, and she had to undergo six months of treatment. But her vetting is complete, and she is ready to find her perfect home!
Lexa is very sweet and trusting once she knows you, but can be nervous and uncertain when meeting new people. She will need someone patient and understanding that is willing to give her the time and socialization she needs to continue on her confidence journey!
Lexa is very playful with other dogs, but can be leash and barrier reactive. She will do best with someone who will continue to work on her leash skills around other dogs, and keep up her positive-based obedience training!
Lexa is sponsored by: Mr. Cioli and Mr. Rosen!

Dog Skills: Lexa can be playful with other dogs, but struggles to have consistent relationships with them. While she can do well in some playgroups, she does best in a home as an only dog.
People Skills: Lexa is working on her obedience skills, and excelling at listening and establishing rapport. She responds quickly to commands, and genuinely likes working with people. She wants to be with people whenever possible, and would do best in a home where she can be a very involved member of the family.
